He had a great love for photography and videography, and loved capturing special family moments and the beautiful outdoors. He was self-taught in many things, including the computer. Marlin enjoyed driving truck, camping, tinkering on cars and building model cars, construction, watching "Fix It" shows on HGTV and the DIY Network, and spending time outdoors - loving the fresh air, scenery, and "being free." Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family - especially his children and grandchildren. Marlin was a "Jack Of All Trades", who worked many jobs over the years, including most recently - Huffman Coaches (driving charter buses) and Five Star Co-Op (driving semi-tractor/trailer).
On May 3, 1986, Marlin married Donna Lasley at the Zion Lutheran Church in Monticello, Iowa. 4, 1959, in Mason City, the son of Alwood and Nadene (Anderson) Hanson.
